POPULATION, LABOR AND EMPLOYMENT
IN 2023
1. Population
The average population of Binh Dinh province in 2023 was estimated at
1,506,331 persons, an increase of 2,046 persons, equivalent to a raise of 0.136%
compared to that in 2022, of which the urban population was 620,875 persons,
accounting for 41.22%; the rural population was 885,456 persons, making up
58.78%; the male population was 748,969 persons, sharing 49.72%; the female
population was 757,362 persons, contributing 50.28%. Quy Nhon city had the
largest population of 293,450 persons; An Lao district had the lowest
population of 28,190 persons. Population density in 2023 reached 248.3

persons/km ; of which, the districts, towns and cities with population density of

over 500 persons per km were Quy Nhon city (1,025.7 persons per km ), Tuy

Phuoc district (827.8 persons per km ), An Nhon town (736.3 persons per km )

and Hoai Nhon town (500.4 people per km ), Van Canh district had the lowest

population density of 35.3 people per km in the province.
The population of Binh Dinh province ranked 22nd in the country, 4th in
the North Central and Central Coastal regions, and 2nd in the Central Key
Economic Zone.
The total fertility rate in 2023 reached 1.97 children per woman. The
crude birth rate was 12.6‰; the crude death rate was 7.3‰; the natural growth
rate was 5.3‰. The infant mortality rate was 12.4‰; the under-5-children
mortality rate was 18.6‰. The average life expectancy of the population of
Binh Dinh province in 2023 was 74.23 years, of which it was 71.73 years for
males and 76.89 years for females.
2. Labor and employment
The labor force aged 15 and over in 2023 was 848,147 persons, an
