TRANSPORT AND COMMUNICATION
IN 2023
In 2023, enterprises operating in the transport sector continued to invest
in improving vehicle quality. Thanks to tourism promotion activities, the
number of tourists visiting the province increased, so passengers’ travel
demand increased also. Freight carried in the province was circulated smoothly
to serve production and business. Increase in goods circulation through
seaports positively impacted warehouse revenue and increase in support
services; Currently, online shopping and selling activities were increasingly
growing, so the postal delivery also developed strongly to meet the needs of
both sellers and buyers.
Total revenue from transport, warehousing, transportation support
services by road and waterway, postal and delivery services in 2023 was
estimated to reach 10,704.8 billion VND, an increase of 12% over the same
period. Of which, road transport reached VND 7,323.1 billion, an increase of
11.9%; Loading, warehousing and transportation support services reached
VND 3,274.9 billion, an increase of 10.5%.
Passenger transport in 2023 gained 40,780 thousand passengers, an
increase of 19.4% and passenger traffic reached 4,073,703 thousand
passengers.km, an increase of 22.5% over the previous year. Freight transport
in 2023 reached 32,818 thousand tons, up 6.3% and freight traffic gained
4,645,771 thousand tons.km, up 4.7% compared to that in 2022.
The total number of telephone subscribers in 2023 in the province
reached 1,610,349 subscribers, down 0.4% over the same period last year. Of
which, mobile subscribers reached 1,592,022 subscribers, down 0.2%; landline
subscribers reached 18,327 subscribers, down 10.3%.
The total number of broadband internet subscribers in 2023 was
1,406,777 subscribers, up 14% over the same period last year. Of which,
mobile subscribers reached 1,072,137 subscribers, up 15.7%; landline
subscribers reached 334,640 subscribers, up 9%.
