EXPLANATION OF TERMINOLOGY, CONTENT
AND METHODOLOGY OF SOME STATISTICAL INDICATORS
ON TRADE AND TOURISM
TRADE
Gross retail sales of goods and services is total turnover generated from
retailing consumer goods and services of production and business
establishments, including: Turnover from retail sales of goods, turnover from
accommodation and catering services, travelling turnover and other service
turnover.
Turnover from retail sales of goods comprises total amount of money
earned or will be earned from retailing goods (including surcharges and fees
collected apart from the selling price, if any) of enterprises and non-farm
business production establishments.
Turnover from accommodation service consists of total amount of
money earned or will be earned from providing short-stay services to
customers in a certain period of time. Establishments providing
accommodation services include: Villas or apartments for business, hotels,
guest houses, motels and other accommodation establishments (dormitories,
mobile home, etc.).
Turnover from food and beverage service is the total amount of money
earned and will be earned from providing catering services to customers in a
certain period of time, including sales of food self- prepared by the
establishment and food purchased from outside for sale without further
processing, without additional services by the establishment (goods purchased
for sale).
Turnover from tourism is the money generated from implementing
travelling business activities including package and semi-package tours for
domestic and foreign tourists by travel establishments; providing tourism
information, tour advisory and planning; tourist guide and tourist agent.
Other service turnover includes: Turnover from real estate business
services; turnover from administrative and supporting services (except for
travelling services); net turnover from education and training activities; net
