Defendant is a person or a legal entity that has been to trial by the court.
The rights and obligations of defendant as legal entity are made through the
legal representative of the legal entity according to provisions of the Criminal
Procedure Law.
The number of people receiving legal aid is an indicator reflecting the
development level of the judiciary with aim of serving people. The number of
legal aid recipients is the number of times that the legal aid beneficiaries are
provided with free legal services according to provisions of the legal aid law.
Persons who are provided with free legal services belong to the following
categories: National devotees, poor households, children, ethnic minority
population residing in areas with especially difficult socio-economic
conditions, accused persons aged between full 16 and under 18 years of age,
accused people from near-poverty household, persons having one of the
following financial difficulties such as fathers, mothers, spouses, children of
revolutionary martyrs and those who have brought up martyrs when they were
young; people poisoned by Agent Orange; the elderly; disable people; persons
aged between full 16 and under 18 years of age who are victims of criminal
case; domestic violence; human trafficking in accordance with the Law on
Prevention and Suppression of Trafficking person; HIV infected people.
The indicator counts on number of people receiving legal aid
(corresponding to number of legal aid cases completed in the reference time). In
there ference time, a person is provided with free legal services in one case,
counted as 01 turn; in 02 cases, counted as two turns. If a person is provided with
02 free legal services in one case, counted as 01 legal aid beneficiary.
NATURAL DISASTER DAMAGE AND ENVIRONMENT
Natural disasters are caused by nature, including: Storms, sea level rise;
strong winds on the sea; tropical low pressure; heavy rain, flood; cyclone,
lighting, hail; mist, white frost, damaging cold; salt-water intrusion; drought,
heat; earthquake; tsunami; land subsidence; other disasters.
Damage caused by natural disasters is destruction or damage at
different levels in term of human and materials, and at the same time adversely
